› Notes for the team — what this prototype decides
The decisions baked in
- Quiet by design. The affordance is a dotted underline, never a loud link. An expert can read straight through without the page feeling like a textbook.
- Help appears in place. The explanation unfolds under the paragraph, so you never lose your spot.
- One at a time. Opening an explanation closes the last one, keeping the page calm.
- Plain language is universal. Every reader has a non-financial background, so the prose stays plain for all. The tap layer only adds depth on demand.
- Even basics are tappable. “Revenue” is one tap away for a newcomer without slowing anyone else down.
- Labels explain themselves. The lens pill is tappable too.
- Our Take has a spine. A point of view to push against, not neutral summary.
What to watch in the test
- Do they notice the underlines, or does the hint need to be louder?
- Which words do they tap? That map shows where the writing assumes too much.
- Does the expert reader feel talked down to?
- Do they tap “read the full deep dive” — i.e. do they want to go deeper?
